Time-delay systems are modeled by ordinary differential equations which involve delayed variables (Gu et al. 2003; Krstic 2009). They are frequently encountered in many applications, for instance, in biology or biomedical systems (Timmer et al. 2004), in telerobotics, teleoperations (Islam et al. 2013; Kim et al. 2013), and in networked control systems.
