Mahmoud Sharf is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science and Engineering at Sapienza University of Roma, and a visiting researcher at GK Software SE and Stuttgart university. Mahmoud Sharf’s main research interests are in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), user interfaces, usability, smart environments, information visualization and data management. On these topics he attended different international conferences, workshops and Ph.D schools while publishing several pair-reviewed papers in international journals, conferences and proceedings.
His main contribution is proposed in his Ph.D. thesis "Towards an Innovative Service Digitalization in Smart Spaces: A User-Oriented Approach" which investigates the future of the innovative industrial digitalization (which is also referred to as Industry 4.0) based on a user-oriented approach. During his Ph.D., he participated in different national and international research projects, including the European projects "FIRST": virtual Factories: Interoperation suppoRting buSiness innovaTion (EU-project number: 734599) within the programs RISE (Research and Innovation Staff Exchange) and MSCA (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions) and "Horizon 2020".
