Behind the Event Data
Abstract
Research on process mining has largely focused on developing tools and techniques for transforming event data into models. The assumption underlying these techniques is that event logs represent the execution of processes in real life. But to what extent does the data reflect actual behavior? How can we measure that? And how can we complement event data to improve this representation or reality?
Bio
Iris Beerepoot is lecturer and researcher at Utrecht University. She recently defended her PhD dissertation on how to use workarounds to improve processes in healthcare organizations. She is particularly interested in using different techniques, research methods, and data sources, to give a new perspective on process data.
